Hi, welcome to the first CrowdSolve newsletter! Our goal is to highlight the CrowdSolve happenings each month (there are a lot), share innovator and mentor spotlights, and announcements about upcoming product enhancements, workshops, and other interesting events in the climate community.
Like many of the climate innovators who are already using CrowdSolve, we are also in our early days. With to-do lists that are much longer than there are hours in the day, we understand the highs and occasional lows of launching an early-stage venture. We appreciate the early interest, feedback, and engagement from the growing CrowdSolve community. Speaking of feedback, we’ve been collecting it over the last few months. Our small but mighty product team (hi, Brandon, Tim, Shokai, and Allie) have been busy developing an updated version of the CrowdSolve platform. Stay tuned for updates to the interface and enhancements to the Blox curriculum (thanks Rob).
CrowdSolve is an ecosystem for innovators, designed to build confidence and help organize business ideas, while creating connections that enable innovators to gain momentum on their climate ventures. The past few months we’ve been working to unlock partnerships with incubators, accelerators, universities, and other strategic partners, so that we can collectively serve more climate innovators. We are honored to have partnered early with Penn Climate Ventures to invite their global pitch finalists to CrowdSolve. Most recently, Genera8tor, has invited applicants to explore CrowdSolve. We look forward to continuing to build a rich community of innovators, mentors, partners, investors, service providers, etc. If there are people or organizations in your network that you think would be an interesting connection, we’d love the intro. You can reach us at email@example.com.
Climate Week is September 19-25 in NYC. CrowdSolve will be at the events across the week and would love to connect. If you are going, drop us a line! There are also virtual events that you can register to attend remotely.
Our friend Jamil Wyne is launching a Climate Tech bootcamp for early-stage climate founders, starting September 12th. During this 4-week, hands-on experience, participants will work directly with leading experts. The cohort is limited to 20 climate innovators and there are only a limited number of spots left! If you are interested in learning more or applying, go here: https://lnkd.in/g95qkM-9 Coming soon: we are launching a WeFunder campaign! We are excited to activate the crowd to encourage our networks to invest in the future of climate innovation. Stay tuned for details about how you can get involved. In addition to securing funding to help CrowdSolve continue to grow, this experience will also help us learn the best practices of crowdfunding to share with the CrowdSolve community.
Meet Simon Julien of Latimer Controls. We met Simon through a Sustainability/Impact program at the University of Colorado, and have watched his progress ever since. He is the innovator, CEO, and founder of Latimer Controls. Latimer has invented groundbreaking solar technology that provides a software-based solution that allows large solar fields to mimic the control abilities of fossil fuels on the power grid. This is important because the uncontrollability and unpredictability of solar power generation is the primary roadblock for solar technologies to begin directly replacing fossil fuel operations. Simon and Latimer have exciting news that we can't wait to share this Fall. We congratulate Simon and team for their outstanding hustle, contribution to the sector, commitment to sustainability! Way to go team!
Thank you for being here!
We love connecting with you and building a platform to support the success of climate innovators who are changing the future of our planet!
